R. Kert Shipway is a Certified Public Accountant who received his bachelor of science degree in accounting from Frostburg State University in 1988.Mr. Shipway has been in public accounting since December of 1988. In September of 1999 he was appointed to the position of Manager of the Tax and Accounting areas and became a Partner in 2004. His accounting and auditing areas of practice include the planning and conducting of for-profit entity audits, reviews, and compilation engagements. His tax and consulting experience includes financial and retirement planning for individuals; corporate, estate, and individual tax planning and preparation, including the preparation of multi-state tax returns; and consulting for non-public, closely-held businesses. He has diversified experience in several industries, including construction and manufacturing entities. Mr. Shipway’s professional memberships currently include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. He has also been a guest speaker and lecturer for various businesses and organizations.
Jodi L. Austin, CPA
Jodi L. Austin is a Certified Public Accountant that started her career with ACM&I in September of 1995 in the Accounting Services department and advanced to a senior level accountant. In September of 2007, she was promoted to the position of Manager in the Tax and Accounting areas. She was admitted as a partner in January of 2023.
She specializes in income tax preparation and financial planning for corporations, partnerships and individuals, including multi-state tax returns. Her accounting area of practice includes audits, reviews and compilation engagements. She also has diverse experience in several industries, including construction, retail and the medical field.
Jodi received her B.S. degree in Finance in 1995 from Frostburg State University. She received a second Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Frostburg State University in 1999.
Currently, Jodi holds professional memberships with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is a member of the Hagerstown Rotary Club as well.
Randy A. Rachor, CPA, CFP
Randy A. Rachor is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner. He joined ACM&I in October of 2002 through the purchase of a local accounting firm and was admitted as a partner January 1, 2007.
His tax and consulting experience includes corporate and individual tax planning and preparation, including multi-state and consolidated tax returns, and not-for-profits. He has diversified experience in several industries, including construction, real estate, insurance, auto sales and various service entities. Having worked as a Controller for a local firm, Randy also has experience in the private sector. Randy has also branched out into the commercial real estate sector as a landlord of several properties, which has assisted in consulting clients with various aspects of real estate holdings and financing.
As a Certified Financial Planner, Randy assists clients with various planning opportunities including retirement, college, insurance, investment, estate and income tax planning. He is also licensed in Life and Health insurance, and long-term care.
Randy graduated cum laude from Mount Saint Mary’s College with a B.S. degree in accounting in 1992, attained his designation as a Certified Public Accountant in 1994 and the designation as a Certified Financial Planner in 2005.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. His previous community involvements include being the past Treasurer for the Rotary Club of Hagerstown Charitable Foundation and serving on the boards for The Humane Society of Washington County, the Mason-Dixon Council of Boy Scouts and the National Little League. He currently serves on the board of the Community Foundation of Washington County, MD.
In 2015, Randy was awarded Hagerstown Magazine’s 2015 HOT LIST 1st place winner for best CPA in our area.
Kery Swope, CPA, CVA
Kery J. Swope is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analysts with over eight years’ experience. He joined Albright Crumbacker Moul & Itell in September 2011.
His tax and consulting experience includes tax planning for businesses and individuals, corporate and individual tax preparation, including multi-state tax returns. He has experience with both financial statement services and income tax preparation. He also consults with business owners in making financial and management decisions. His accounting and auditing areas of practice include the planning, conducting, and supervising of audits for local governments and not-for-profit organizations.
Kery is a summa cum laude graduate of Delaware Valley College and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness with a concentration in Accounting.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and is licensed as a CPA in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Currently, he serves as Treasurer of Children In Need, Inc.
Paul M. Cunningham, CPA, CVA
Paul M. Cunningham is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analyst. He joined the firm in October of 2002, through the purchase of a local accounting firm, as a manager in the tax and accounting department.
His accounting areas of practice include planning and conducting compilations and reviews for closely-held businesses and not-for-profits. He also consults with many small business owners in making financial and management decisions. His tax and consulting experience includes tax planning for businesses and individuals, corporate and individual tax preparation, including multi-state tax returns. Paul also has successfully represented clients in negotiating offers in compromises with the Internal Revenue Service. He has extensive experience in various industries, including transportation, retail, medical, contracting, manufacturing and technology based businesses. In addition, he has provided consulting and training for both Peachtree and QuickBooks computer accounting packages.
In 1987, Paul received his B.A. in Business Administration from Andrews University.
In 2007, he passed his exam and became a Certified Valutation Analyst. Since then, he has performed business valutions for gifting, estate, purchase and sale of business, succession plannin, shareholder disputes and marital litigation.
Currently, Paul’s professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
Pamela J. Donohue, CPA
Pamela J. Donohue is a Certified Public Accountant. Her 17 years of accounting experience started in private industry where she worked as a controller for three years. For over 25 years, she has worked in public accounting, first as a staff accountant, then senior accountant, supervisor, Manager and currently a Partner.
The areas Pam specializes in include income tax preparation and financial planning for corporations, partnerships, and individuals, including multi-state tax returns. Her accounting area of practice includes review and compilation engagements. She has diverse experience in several industries, including construction, retail and the medical field. Pam is well versed in the complexities of personal and corporate finance as well.
Pam earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting and a minor in mathematics from Shepherd College in 1987. She is also a native of Hagerstown.
Her professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Society of Accountants.
Pam’s community activities include Past-President of Soroptimists International of Hagerstown, Hickory Elementary PTA and Williamsport Band Boosters as well as Past Treasurer of Cub Scout Pack 36. She is the current Treasurer for the WCPS Education Foundation and St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
John P. Itell, CPA
John P. Itell is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analyst. He joined Albright Crumbacker Moul & Itell in 1985 and became a Partner in 1991. John has played a key role in helping the firm to increase its services and expand its client base.
One enjoyment of John’s is working with his clients to blend their personal and business financial goals in order to maximize their wealth. Over the years, the array of services has changed, and John has responded. From the traditional services of preparing tax returns and financial statements, to being a business consultant with the continual developments in the valuation services arena, John has honed his skills in valuing closely held businesses.
John is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Baltimore and holds a B.S. degree in business. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, the West Virginia Board of Accountancy.
The expertise John provides in business and accounting has benefited the Hagerstown community as well. He has served at various community non-profit organizations. The Community Foundation of Washington County, Mason Dixon Boy Scout Council, Breast Cancer Awareness of the Cumberland Valley, Children In Need, Inc., and Hagerstown Community College. As for other outside business interests, John has served as a board member to the Family Heritage Trust Company in Frederick, MD and past board of directors of Centra Financial, Hagerstown, MD that ultimately merged with United Bank.
In 2013, John was awarded the Business Person of the Year through the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
Lindsey Close, CPA
Lindsey Close is a Certified Public Accountant with 10 years of experience. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Frostburg State University in 2006. She began her career with ACM&I in October 2007 as a staff accountant, advanced to a senior level accountant, and is currently a supervisor.
Lindsey specializes in federal and multi-state income tax preparation as well as financial planning for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. Her accounting experience includes financial statement preparation at various levels including compilation, review, and audit engagements. She has diverse experience in several industries including not-for-profit, construction, real estate, and various service industries.
Her professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is also an active member of the community and serves as treasurer for a local not-for-profit organization.
Jason Knode, CPA
Jason P. Knode, a Certified Public Accountant, is a 1992 graduate of Hagerstown Community College receiving an Associate in Arts degree in business administration and is a 1997 graduate of Frostburg State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He obtained his designation as a Certified Public Accountant in 2004.
Mr. Knode has been in the accounting and auditing arena since he entered public accounting in 1997, as well as working as a Controller for various businesses for several years while in private industry. Consequently, he has extensive experience auditing, assisting and consulting for such industries as not-for-profit organizations, healthcare entities, governmental, employee benefit and retirement plans, educational institutions, and distribution businesses.
Mr. Knode’s professional memberships currently include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. His community activities include being the former Treasurer of Dream Come True, Inc., former Treasurer of Health Community Partnerships of Greater Franklin County, and former Board Member of Star Community, Inc.
Cheryl M. Dodson, CPA
Cheryl M. Dodson is a Certified Public Accountant with over ten years of experience. Cheryl began working with ACM&I in February 2016 as an Audit Supervisor. She has been in public accounting since 2003 and has experience with both financial statement services and income tax preparation. She specializes in audits of closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
Cheryl earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Management from Pensacola Christian College in 2002.
